Scale and Density

Size matters in quilting! Especially when it comes to the size of the pantograph.

Size matters in quilting! Especially when it comes to the size of the pantograph. With digital edge to edge quilting, I can change the scale and density of the design you chose. Why would want to change the sizing?

  • Large scale can give a softer drape to the quilt

  • Large scale gives more room for fabrics to shine - like on a t-shirt quilt

  • Smaller scale can give more structure to a quilt with smaller piecing or maybe older fabrics that might need stabilization

  • Smaller, dense quilting can give a dramatic look or more interest to a lot of “white space”

There are lots of reason to go one way or the other, it’s all about personal preference. Check out my video above to see what a difference changing the size makes.
